The territory of this region is plain and intensively cultivated , it’s divided into small plots of land by characteristic dry stone walls built by the typical limestone of the place (pietra leccese ),Rows of ancient olive trees, between ancient fortified “Masserie” and small white villages that’s our land .

Even the dialect is unique, here it’ s also possible to meet a small communities where people speak a greek dialect, result of the migration from neighboring Greece over the centuries of the Middle Ages.

| Il Salento è coltivato per buona parte del suo territorio, e la vegetazione è per lo più costituita da distese di ulivi secolari, dai tronchi contorti. I terreni sono suddivisi in piccoli appezzamenti, separati dai tipici muretti a secco. Nelle campagne troviamo costruzione di pietra i tipici furnieddrhi o pajare. Le masserie fortificate risalenti al XVI, XVII e XVIII secolo punteggiano la campagna salentina. I paesi, poco popolosi, sono caratterizzati dal bianco delle costruzioni che li rende abbagliantii nelle giornate di sole. Il mare assume colorazioni diverse, blu scuro se sul mar Adriatico, e un più tenue verde smeraldo quello delle spiagge sabbiose o del mar Ionio. | | |
